In other words, COBIT is an IT governance framework and supporting tool set that allows managers to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks. COBIT enables clear policy development and good practice for IT control throughout organizations. COBIT has 34 high level objectives and covers 215 control objectives which has been categorized in four domains.

Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR)

BPR is one approach for redesigning the way work is done to better support the organization's vision, mission, and improve productivity and efficiency in managing its daily operations. Said simply, it is the redesign of the way work is performed. A process is any series or combination of tasks or activities which produce a result. The result could be a machined part, a drawing, or a requisition for materials. Traditionally those activities may be performed in a sequential manner. In this situation each step is completed before the next one begins to have better result and to fully understand the entire process objectively.

Balance Scorecard (BSC)

BSC is a performance management tool for measuring whether the smaller-scale operational activities of a company are aligned with its larger-scale objectives in terms of vision and strategy. It is a semi-standard structured report supported by proven design methods and automation tools that can be used by managers to keep track of the execution of activities by staff within their control and monitor the consequences. BSC is used extensively in business and industry, government, and non-profit organizations worldwide to align business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor organization performance against strategic goals.

BCM: Business Continuity Management (ISO22301)

International standard that focuses on helping companies identify and manage key processes that help achieve excellence in managing IT services. It is a holistic management process that identifies potential impacts that threaten an organisation, and provides a framework for building resilience and the capability for an effective response which safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders, reputation, brand and value-creating activities

Six Sigma is a systematic method for improving the operational performance of an organisation by eliminating variability and waste (“sigma” stands for standard deviation from the mean in a normal distribution). The Six Sigma methodology is well rooted in statistics and statistical mathematics which plays a major role in reducing process output variation.
